This standard applies to enriched crystalline graphite obtained by beneficiation of graphite-containing ores or a mixture of graphite-containing ores and graphite-containing waste of metallurgical production, intended for the manufacture of refractory products.

Depending on the physical and chemical composition, graphite is subdivided into grades:

Graphite GT-1 (ГТ-1)

Ash content, %, not more than = 7,0
Iron content (Fe) in terms of F2O3, %, not more than = 1,6
The release of volatile substances, %, not more than = 1,5
The residue on the sieve No. 0,2, %, not less than = 75
Moisture content, %, not more than = 1,0

Graphite GT-2 (ГТ-2)

Ash content, %, not more than = 8,5
Iron content (Fe) in terms of F2O3, %, not more than = 1,6
The release of volatile substances, %, not more than = 1,5
The residue on the sieve No. 0,2, %, not less than = 75
Moisture content, %, not more than = 1,0

Graphite GT-3 (ГТ-3)

Ash content, %, not more than = 10,0
Iron content (Fe) in terms of F2O3, %, not more than = 1,6
The release of volatile substances, %, not more than = 1,5
The residue on the sieve No. 0,2, %, not less than = 75
Moisture content, %, not more than = 1,0

For graphite obtained from a mixture of natural ores and graphite-containing wastes of metallurgical production, the letter “C” – ГТС (“S” – GTS) is added to the brand designation.

No impurities are allowed in all grades of graphite.

By agreement between the manufacturer and the consumer, it is allowed to supply graphite grade GT-3 (ГТ-3) from the Kyshtym deposit with the Ash content of 11%.
